During the Second World War, in the north of France, Bernard Dalle was wounded by a bullet. Doctors advised him to leave Wervicq, near Lille, to seek a drier climate in the south. He abandoned the family businesses of beer and textiles.
The Northerner came to Campuget, in Manduel, an estate he acquired with his brother-in-law, Jacques Delassus, in 1941, for a winemaking adventure that he continued in 1981 with his brother François Dalle.
