Campuget food and wine pairings: suggestions to prolong the pleasure of their discoveries

In harmony with the seasons, The Domaine de Campuget offers pairings between your favorite dishes and some of our wines, whether for red or white meat, fish, salad, or dessert. And extend the pleasure of our terroir and this corner of Provence that we have so appreciated for four generations.

With grilled lamb : the “Mourvèdre” red wine

With the arrival of summer and the return of grilled meats with Provençal herbs, particularly popular at our Bistro, we recommend pairing this dish with a glass of a Mourvèdre red wine, with a fresh and light attack, balanced and refined thanks to its traditional, sulfite-free production.

With grilled red meat : the “Longitude” red wine

Since summer is still lingering in the heart of our Provence region (at least until September 14th at our Bistro), Campuget’s “Longitude” wine can be paired with grilled red meat, thanks to this unique blend of the vineyard’s best terroirs, composed of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah.

A journey to the heart of the South, both intense and refined, enhanced by oak aging.

With a fish dish : the “1753 Albariño” white wine

This withe wine, made from an emblematic white grape variety from Galicia (northwest of Spain) and northern Portugal, will bring you a real breath of freshness and iodine. The aroma is frank and precise, with lemon zest, touches of yellow plum and subtle notes of exotic fruit.

With its beautiful pale yellow color, the 1753 Albariño will enhance a seafood platter or a fresh fish salad, like this cod and crushed tomatoes, as served in our Bistro, with purslane leaves and garlic flowers (do not hesitate to also combine it with a veal tartare with capers and lemon zest), enjoy your meal, appreciate your tasting.

With a seafood salad (or a sweet/savory dish):
a rosé wine “1753 Syrah Vermentino”

This 90% Syrah 10% Vermentino cuvée reveals aromas of white-fleshed fruit and hints of citrus, such as grapefruit and orange zest. Its very elegant pale pink color is accompanied on the palate by a pleasant acidity softened by a slight sweetness.

For this reason, this 1753 Syrah Vermentino will pair perfectly with light fish-based dishes, such as tuna tartare with citrus, a seafood platter, or sweet and savory dishes.

With a cheese platter (or a mildly spiced dish):
a red wine “1753 Grenache Sans Sulfites”

This cuvée offers an authentic wine that celebrates the purity and elegance of Grenache, with a beautiful deep ruby color and a nose of intense aromas of candied cherries and spices.

Traditionally produced and sulfite-free, it pairs perfectly with red meats in sauce or spicy dishes such as a mildly spiced tagine. It will also be a surprising addition to a platter of mature cheeses.

So you don’t have to choose between cheese and dessert:
“1753 Muscat Petit Grains”

This late-harvest cuvée is distinguished by its intense aromatic expression and a perfect balance between sweetness and acidity, with notes of white-fleshed fruits, exotic fruits, candied orange, and a hint of raisins.

On the palate, you’ll be delighted to discover a wine that is as harmonious, smooth, and refreshing as it is delicious, pairing it perfectly with a fruity dessert like a strawberry tart, a chocolate dessert, or a soft cheese like a Pélardon from the Cévennes.
